After a brief experience as corporate tax advisor he is employed by IRI Headquarter – Strategic Planning and Control Department - as controller of the Steel Business Unit (1989). In this period he completes many company’s evaluations within the restructuring project of the steel industry in Italy.
In 1995 he moves to London as CFO of Horizon IJVC, prime contractor of a multinational programme in the defence naval industry (new generation frigates).
In 1998 he returns to Italy, as Corporate Controller of the Helicopter Business Unit in Finmeccanica Headquarter. In this context he is the team leader of the merger between Agusta and Westland Helicopters, completed in 2001, assuming growing responsibilities in any single element of the transaction: preliminary agreements, due diligence, business negotiations, framework agreement, shareholders agreement, coordination of external accountants, investment bank and lawyers.
In 2001 he is appointed Vice President Planning & Control of Finmeccanica and he is therefore responsible for the planning & control process of the Group and for the analysis of the performance of each individual company controlled by Finmeccanica.
At the end of 2003 he moves again to UK where he is appointed CFO of AgustaWestland (Helicopters). One year later, under the direction of Finmeccanica Corporate, he supports the acquisition of the residual 50% of the JV, at that time still held by GKN.
As CFO of AgustaWestland he is focussed on the integration of the Italian and British main operating companies and on the development of the Group, attained also through the acquisition of the leading aerostructure and helicopter company in Poland, PZL Swidnik (in the framework of a competitive tender issued by the Government of Poland in 2008). During this period AgustaWestland becomes world leader in the helicopter’s industry and will be, for many years, the principal “cash cow” of the Group.
Between 2001 and 2010 he is a Board Member of several companies such as, among others, Ansaldo Signal NV, Ansaldo Energia, Galileo Avionica and Fata.
In 2010 he is appointed CFO of Alenia Aeronautica and in 2011, following the merger with Aermacchi, he becomes General Manager and Chief Business Officer of the new Alenia Aermacchi (military aircrafts, trainers and civil aerostructures). In this position he is responsible for Business Development, Strategies, Sales & Marketing and he is the Head of the Customer Support Business Unit. He has the opportunity to negotiate with major corporations in the Aerospace Industry, such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Elbit, General Dynamics, Mubadala, Raytheon, Rolls Royce, Sukhoi, UAC, in addition to many Governmental customers worldwide.
Between 2010 and 2016 he is Chairman of the Board of ATR in Toulouse (leader in the regional aircraft market segment), member of the Board of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Moscow) and member of the Board of Superjet International (Venice).
At the end of 2016 he leaves his employment in the industry to start XSolVing, a tailored business consultancy activity.
